In a world where life rushes by, street photography serves as a powerful reminder to pause and observe the everyday moments that often go unnoticed. Starting August 28, 2024, Open Space Arts at Stonebrige (Woodbridge, VA) will be showcasing some of my work in their gallery as part of their Nuestro Mundo También (We're Also the World) hispanic heritage month exhibit.
Street photography is more than just capturing random snapshots of life on the streets. It's about telling stories through the lens, finding beauty in the mundane, and freezing moments that might otherwise be lost to time. I'll be highlighting a raw, unfiltered essence of Washington DC city life.
The images displayed are part of a collection of human experiences of a sensitive nature. One of the standout pieces is a photo of an elderly homeless man sitting in front of a sandwich restaurant, as another man eats his food inside the restaurant behind glass a the sun casts hard shadows across the pavement. This image, like many others in the exhibit, resonated with viewers, evoking a sense of pity and reflection.

What makes street photography so compelling is its ability to capture the unexpected, the fleeting moments that tell the story of a place and its people. This exhibit, at least my part, is a testament to the power of photography to connect us with the world around us, encouraging us to see the beauty in the everyday and to appreciate the rich tapestry of life that unfolds on the streets.
The images will be exhibited until September 29, 2024. Whether you're an avid photographer or simply someone who appreciates the art of visual storytelling, this collection of street photography is sure to inspire you. Take a moment to step off the beaten path and see the city through my eyes of those who find art in the ordinary.

This showcase is a reminder that art is everywhere—it just takes a keen eye to capture it.
